Samhar I. Al-Akash, MD - Medical Director, Renal Transplant Program
Pediatric Nephrologist, CPSST in Corpus ChristiDr. Al-Akash graduated from the University of Jordan Faculty of Medicine in 1991.  He completed internship and residency at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, and then completed his pediatric nephrology fellowship at Mattel Children’s Hospital at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine.  Dr. Al-Akash is board certified in general Pediatrics and Pediatric Nephrology.  Prior to joining the CPSST in 2006, he was a consultant pediatric nephrologist and the Deputy Director of The Renal Transplant Program at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Al-Akash is an experienced clinician and educator, and has received many teaching awards and national recognition as one of the nation’s “Top Doctors” in the specialty of Pediatric Nephrology.
